SettingDescription
Proj. Onto Plane Def. By Controls the plane against which the element is projected:
  • Shape – Defines a projection plane by a shape.
  • 3 pts – Defines an imaginary plane by three points.
  • 2 pts/view – Defines a projection plane through two points and perpendicular to the view of the first point.
Tolerance Sets the smoothness of the curve.

Tolerance is the maximum deviation between the actual curve and the approximating line segments for the arc and curved elements.

As you decrease the value in the tolerance field, the curve becomes smoother.

Extrude When on, links the vertices on the original element with the projected vertices to generate a shape.

The first drawing is with Extrude turned off, and the second drawing is with Extrude turned on.

Note: The Extrusion Direction setting in the Offset/Direction Settings dialog controls the extrusion direction:
  • When on, extrudes the element in the specified direction.
  • When off, extrudes the selected element in the direction perpendicular to the view.
Add Dropped Element If on, adds an additional line to each edge of the projected element.
